Where the other wings cover pseudo-medicine, the funeral trade and medical electricity, this one covers the working apparatus of the operating room, the consulting room and the anesthetist's trolley — roughly the 1890s to the 1960s. Suction and pressure pumps, ether and chloroform delivery outfits, sterilizers, and the ear-nose-throat and minor-surgical office equipment that specialists kept at hand, together with the instrument makers who supplied them.

The register is object, engineering and trade history: how a machine works, who manufactured it, and what its catalog plates and patents reveal — never procedural guidance for use on a patient, and with anesthesia agents treated as chemistry and history rather than dosage or technique. This wing exists because of a misattribution that primary sources overturned: a "Sorensen embalming machine" that the 1926 trade catalog proves is a Yankauer pressure-and-suction outfit for the nose and throat. That correction sets the standard for everything here — every date, model number and origin story earns a source before it is stated.
